Black Friday shoppers turned against each other while trying to grab the best deals available, some resorting to violence in several stores, resulting in injuries and some wild news stories.

I think I’ll just wait for Cyber Monday.

Cyber Week Specials

Apparently the series of After Thanksgiving sales from Black Friday into Cyber Monday, has now turned into CyberWeek Specials. I saw this in various themes on a couple of different sites.

Walmart.com has unbelievable deals on all kinds of electronics including video games, CD and DVD. Check their daily specials, and whether the items are available online only or also in-store.

BestBuy.com has it right on their home page…CyberWeek Specials now through Dec. 6. And they’re got great prices on LCD HDTV too.

But today’s favorite is their Hair Metal CD Sale…Shred it up and fill your CD collection with great pricing on some of the all-time hair metal greats. Oh yeah, like WhiteSnake; those guys probably fought over who got the hairdryer next. LOL!

Cyber Monday Deals

Online retailers are offering some great deals for Cyber Monday. Many sales are extended for another day or even a week!

Amazon.com has list prices marked out with sale prices listed in red on thousands of items, like Guitar Hero On Tour $29.95, Kingston 16GB USB Flash Drive $24.99, plus DVDs for $4.99, Blu-ray $10.95, and CDs under $9.00.

BestBuy.com started their 2-day sale on Sunday, with a 40-inch 1080p Toshiba LCD HDTV priced at $799.00, an Asus Netbook with 8.9-inch widescreen, 1GB memory, built-in webcam and 16GB hard drive for $279, and an Acer Aspire Laptop with a 12.1-inch widescreen, 3GB memory, 250GB hard drive and DVD burner for $799.99.

CircuitCity.com has the Sony Cyber-shot Digital Camera for $109.99, Apple’s 8GB iPod Touch for $226.99, and a SENS 8-inch Widescreen portable DVD player for $119.99.

Dell.com is finally offering laptops and notebooks under $500 now. Their Inspiron Mini 9 is priced at $299 and comes with Linux installed, a 4GB Solid State Drive and an Intel Atom Processor.

eBay has their One Dollar Doorbusters through December 8th, like an iPod 8GB Nano or a LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship.

OfficeDepot.com is offering deals like, buy one and get the second at 50% off.

Overstock.com has some good prices too. For example, they have a large selection of LCD TV’s, some refurbished units and some brands I’ve never seen before, like the Hannspree Flora 12-inch LCD TV. Like amazon, overstock offers savings on a wide variety of merchandise including furniture, clothing, shoes, jewelry, electronics and home items like bedding and housewares.

Sears.com is advertising online only specials like 10 to 50 percent off Tools, 15 percent off Appliances, and an extra ten percent off Fine Jewelry and Watches.

A lot of sites like Target.com are offering Free Shipping on orders of $50 and up, depending on what you’re buying, like clothing or furniture. Target makes it easy to shop online by offering specials by price, where you can select gifts for under $25, $50 or $100.

Walmart.com has 2-for-$30 Game Bundles for Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and Xbox 360. They also have the cool new Flip Video MinoHD 60-Minute High Definition Digital Camcorder bundled with a free tripod and case for $219.88.

KeepCash.com also features daily product deals and has online coupon codes for most major retailers. They’re one of many sites that are tracking all the holiday sales like Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

The big day has arrived, and Black Friday has the Big Deals you’ve been shopping for!

If you’re shopping for electronics like I am, you’ll appreciate these shopping tips from Consumer Reports on the big items being sought after this holiday season. It’s always helpful to arm yourself with a little knowledge so you can avoid any buyer’s remorse later on. Scoping out the prices online can help narrow down the number of stores you actually have to shop at too.

If you’re looking for any of these items, chances are you can probably find a better price by comparison shopping at least two other stores.

Best Deals Online

The best deals online are really starting to happen now. Word has it that a lot of retailers are starting their online Black Friday sales early Thanksgiving morning at 1:00 A.M. I set up my Gmail account to get regular alerts about Black Friday sales and online deals, and I’m getting a lot of information about it now.

Here’s the latest…Best Buy appears to have the most items on sale early; their Black Friday items are going online for sale starting at midnight tonight (early Thanksgiving morning.) Other stores like Circuit City and Walmart will probably follow suit by putting their Black Friday items online and on sale starting very early on Thanksgiving morning and throughout Thanksgiving day, and right into Black Friday.

Best Buy has the great deals on Thanksgiving Day, starting at 5 am when their stores open…their ads say they will hand out doorbuster coupons, tickets and vouchers starting as early as 3:00 am!

Black Friday Comes Early

It seems like retailers are opening earlier than ever this year on Black Friday. The official start of the after Thanksgiving Christmas shopping season is beginning as early as 4:00 am this Friday. That’s when Kohl’s will open their doors, with Best Buy stores opening at 5:00 am. Plus a lot of the malls will also open at 5:00 am.

The online specials start much earlier, and some are posted now. Not everything will be available until Black Friday officially starts. Best Buy online specials will start at 1:00 am this Friday, with other stores following suit. Be sure to check for the advance doorbuster specials; those will probably sell out first and fast.

Deals for Thanksgiving

The Sunday paper is FULL of BIG DEALS for Thanksgiving. Sears, Kohl’s, JC Penney, Walgreens, Dollar General, Target, and Best Buy all have huge full-color flyers advertising their big 2 and 4-day sales, leading up to the big shopping weekend after Thanksgiving.

Even with a national economic downturn, this coming weekend looks like a full-out retail blockbuster full of great deals. Forget the financial forecasters for this week. If you’re looking for a great bargain, a super sale price or a big deal, this is the week to find it.

I was reading another post about Black Friday yesterday and they used the phrase Brown Thursday. I thought…”Brown Thursday? OK, then there’s Black Friday, so what color is Saturday?” I guess the color would be green, as in cash. Cashing in on the Christmas sales.

I was curious about how many stores are putting out their Black Friday deals early. So I made a Google Alert for Black Friday, and man is it active! There are dozens of big deals arriving at my inbox daily now.

Thanksgiving Break

I’m about ready for the annual Thanksgiving break, aren’t you? My sister already has a twenty pound turkey in the freezer. Now she’s collecting holiday recipes and planning a big dinner with all the trimmings.

Ok time for some quick figures…Thanksgiving is on a Thursday. A twenty pound turkey divided among the family, combined with dressing, veggies, sweet potatoes, cornbread, cranberries, pumpkin pie, and various desserts; a sudden weight gain and inertia, allow 24 hours to regain mobility. That puts us into Friday. Black Friday, the biggest retail day of the year. The day of the shopper!

Even with a down economy, national retailers are expecting record crowds this year. Why? Because everything is on sale. Stores don’t have any choice but to offer deep discounts on practically every item in stock, just to draw customers in. Competition is getting fierce for the shrinking American dollar, so take advantage of it.
