Mozilla Firefox is celebrating their fifth anniversary. Five years is a long time, especially online where things are constantly changing and evolving.

I was a Netscape fan from the beginning, but after AOL ruined that browser, I discovered Firefox and it’s many cool features; the multiple tabs, the add-ons, and the easy-to-use bookmarks.

One of the main reasons Firefox has been so successful is the Mozilla community of developers, programmers and users, working within an open source environment. Read more about Mozilla at mozilla.org

Firefox is currently up to version 3.5.6, and there’s a new beta version available as well. Download the latest Firefox browser at firefox.com

One of my favorite features of Firefox are the cool add-ons. A couple of my personal favorites are:
FireFTP provides easy intuitive FTP access right from the browser.
Firebug integrates a suite of web development tools to edit, view and monitor CSS, HTML and JavaScript.
Many different add-ons are available at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

There’s a special website dedicated to those who wish to spread the word about Firefox, spreadfirefox.com. There’s dozens of projects that you can join and contribute your talents to. You can also earn points and win prizes in Mozilla’s Affiliate program by placing a banner on your website or blog.

firefox.com

mozilla.org

spreadfirefox.com

Follow Firefox on Twitter @ twitter.com/firefox
